Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet fajita seasoning mix
- 4 hamburger buns
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Sour cream and salsa for topping
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooking oil for sauting
Instructions:
Put some cooking oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat
Put the bell peppers and onions that have been sliced into the skillet
Saut them for about 5 to 7 minutes, until they are soft and slightly caramelized
Add the minced garlic and cook for one more minute, until the garlic smells good
Take the mixture out of the pan and set it aside
Put the ground beef and fajita seasoning mix in a bowl and mix them together
Add pepper and salt to taste
Mix everything together well
Season the ground beef and shape it into four burger patties
Put the pan back on medium-high heat and add a little more cooking oil if it needs it
As long as they're medium-rare to medium-done, the burger patties should be cooked for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side
In the last minute of cooking, add some of the sauted onion and pepper mixture to top each burger patty
Then, sprinkle with cheddar cheese shreds
Put the lid on the pan to melt the cheese
You can toast the buns in the skillet or on a separate griddle until they are just barely golden
Place one patty on top of a toasted bun to make the Fajita Burgers
You can add sour cream and salsa on top if you want to
Your Fajita Burgers will taste great when they're hot
